Introduction to Wildlife and Outdoor Skills

These adventures can involve K-12 students in land based curriculum.

The adventure will involve a walk on the land where students are asked to be “PRESENT” and “CURIOUS”(what do they see,hear and smell). We will intentionally look and listen for signs of wildlife on the land and take the opportunities to have a discussion on the characteristics of the animals we see and possibly have a dialogue on the when or why of population management. We also incorporate a bushcraft activity to create a hands-on takeaway souvenir from the student's nature adventure (e.g., Cattail cordage, Roycraft Pack).

The experience will also give students a glimpse into the possible careers that involve connections to nature, habitat, and wildlife management.
